Day 1: Arrive
Tehran, drive to Gorgan vai Firouzkhouh Road.
Day 2: Drive to
Golestan Forest National Park. This was the first area to be
designated a Natural Reserve in Iran. It includes mountainous
terrain and bunchgrass steppe, and is home to an abundance of
wildlife. Overnight in tent
Day 3: Full day
Golestan Forest sightseeing tour. Overnight in tent.
Day 4: Drive to Khosh Yellagh Protected
Area. Overnight in tent.
Day 5: Morning
drive to Damghan via Shahroud, with sightseeing in both cities.
Day 6: Drive to
Jandagh, passing through Central Desert. Overnight in tent.
Day 7: Drive to
Ishahan via Naeen, visiting monuments in Naeen. Overnight in
Isfahan.
Day 8: Full day
Isfahan city tour.
Day 9: Drive to Kashan via Natanz,
sightseeing in both cities. Continue on to Desert. Overnight in
tent.
Day 10: Kavir National Park. Good
example of desert and arid steppe terrain. Overnight in tent.
Day 11: Drive to Lar Protected Area.
This region, at the foot of Iran's highest mountain (Damavand
Peak), is at least 2,400 metres above sea level. It is home to
many endemic and migratory birs, including kestrels and eagles,
and a wide range of mammals including bear, hyena and leopard.

Day 12: Morning in Lar, afternoon drive to Tehran. |
